The Lukewarm Regards Origin Story

At thebit.agency, we wear a lot of hats… figuratively and literally. We’re the CEOs, HR department, graphic designers, project managers, and in-house critics. When you run a business, your job title is basically “all of the above.”

When you’re drowning in Adobe files, client emails, and branding decks, sometimes you need an escape from the monotony… and that’s where workplace snark comes in.

What is workplace snark, you ask?

It’s our way of making the day-to-day a little funnier, a little lighter, and a lot more us. Design isn’t the only thing we create. We’re fluent in creative language, witty banter, and the occasional all-staff eye roll. (Which, believe it or not, leads to some of the best creative work we’ve ever done.)

We talk how we talk. And that became our tone of voice.

Which eventually… became a hat.

Lukewarm Regards: The Hat, The Myth, The Email Signoff

The “Lukewarm Regards” hat was born during one of those weeks where our inboxes were full and our patience was… not. We were deep in the grind of beginning a new business, sending each other emails laced with dry humor and signature sass. Because sometimes? The regards aren’t warm. They’re lukewarm at best… and that’s okay.

Somewhere in between joking about passive-aggressive email culture and designing Lord knows what, we realized: this is what our brand is about. Real, creative, a little unhinged in the best way. The kind of energy that says “I love what I do, but I don’t take myself too seriously.”

So we made it official! and the Lukewarm Regards hat became part of our very first merch drop, Q3.

Workplace snark isn’t about being cynical. It’s about being human. It’s about showing up, doing exceptional work, and making sure you laugh (a lot) along the way. It’s about owning the weird and building a creative culture where authenticity wins. It’s how we stay inspired, keep the process fun, and avoid creative burnout.

Long story long? We built our brand to reflect us. We’re not corporate and we never will be. The mold we fit is the one we made ourselves.

And we like it that way.

Stay weird, stay cool… and buy the hat!
